Coffee
Coffee at the Palm House Café is an excellent way to meet new people in a lovely relaxed and friendly environment. It’s a good place to have a chat, talk through problems, catch up on what’s happening on the Social Programme, share experiences of activities and any new ideas for the future. Just drop in …..we would be pleased to see you….and the coffee’s pretty good too!
Ten Pin Bowling
This is a great social event for first time bowlers and the more experienced. It happens straight after the coffee group so many people come to coffee and then come on to the bowling. If you just want to come and watch that is okay – you may want to play in the future.
Book club
We meet monthly at Dorset Adult Learning, and we bring a long any books we have enjoyed to share them with the group. You don’t have to be reading at the moment but if you have an enjoyment of books this may help you recover that reading spark. We all like different styles of book from Murder Mystery to Non fiction to Romance. At the last one we decided to have a theme each month, and January’s theme is Comedy.
Spirit of Life Band
A project for musicians and vocalists within the service and the community who meet together weekly to practise for performances in Nursing homes/Residential homes and Community events.
Sing Your heart Out
A six week project for people who enjoy singing but don’t feel they have the confidence or the ability at present to join a choir. We have fun singing along to a variety of songs on CD’s.
Green Gym
An outdoor gym comprising 21 pieces of eqiupment, located at 5 different stations in the Lodmoor Country park. A fun and easy way to keep fit in the fresh air and without the expense of a gym membership!
